Birth control has become a common process these days in almost all the countries in the world. Birth can be controlled with the use of medications, by using condoms and many other modern as well as traditional techniques.
In the present day, people are so busy with their careers and profession and many are not ready to give birth to a child. So to prevent the birth of a child, such people are choosing different types of contraceptive pills, which are the simplest forms of birth prevention. Birth control or contraceptive pills are of three types. They are:
1) Progestin only pills: It does not have the estrogen hormone and works by thickening the mucus and obstructs the sperm from moving towards the uterus.
2) Combination birth control pills: These pills are mostly used at present and they comprise both estrogen and progesterone hormones. They function by putting off the ovulation process as well as by thickening the mucus.
3) Emergency birth control pills: It is used when unprotected sexual intercourse takes place and it has to be taken in a minimum of 48hrs and a maximum of 72hrs.
Side effects:
All kinds of birth control pills certainly have some side effects. But it does not mean that every user of these pills go through these effects. Some of the common side effects of these pills are headache, vomiting, change in the vision, gain or loss of weight and many others.
